Father’s Day has come and gone. Again. And, yes, I know it was over a week ago. As always, it nearly passed me by unnoticed.
It’s not that I don’t care about my father, of course, but more that I grew up in Ukraine, where Father’s Day was never really a thing. It’s not a deeply rooted celebration, and definitely not the commercialised, greeting-card-heavy extravaganza that it is in Ireland.
