A father of five who is on nightly ­dialysis and is waiting a lifesaving kidney ­transplant says a change in the law on organ donation has given hundreds of people like him new hope.

Francis Hogan (48) from Templemore, Co Tipperary, suffers hereditary polycystic kidney disease and is on the ­waiting list for a transplant for over a year.
