The recent spell of fine weather is over, but it won’t be all doom and gloom for the coming week with some sunshine in the mix.

Met Éireann has forecast a “changeable” week ahead with rain at times, but also some “drier sunnier interludes”.

Today will start off with showers dying away to bring a mostly dry day with some sunny spells. Cloud will then build up later, bringing rain and drizzle in the west and southwest.

That rain and drizzle will spread further tonight. Highest temperatures today will be between 16 and 22C.

There is another mild, humid night in store with lows of 12 to 16C.

Tuesday morning will be mostly cloudy with just patches of rain or drizzle, but it will turn mostly dry in Connacht and Ulster by afternoon. There will be some spells of bright, sunny weather too, with highest temperatures of 15 to 22C.

On Wednesday, much of the morning and afternoon will be dry, with just the odd shower. Rain will spread from the west of the country in the evening, possibly turning heavy or thundery at times. Highest temperatures will range from 17 to 22C.

Conditions will turn breezy from Thursday, when there will again be sunshine and showers. It will then turn cloudy in the afternoon, bringing more showers before “more persistant” rain spreads later in the day, with highs of 15 to 19C.

Met Éireann’s outlook for the coming weekend suggests the weather will remain “changeable” with rain at times but some “decent drier sunnier interludes likely too”.
