Irish researchers are working on developing a lightweight, wearable sensor system which will give new hope to stroke survivors and allow them more personally tailored rehabilitation at home.

The system will be developed using functional near-infrared spectroscopy, a brain and muscle-imaging technique that uses light to measure brain activity more efficiently than large scanning equipment used in medical settings.
