CHI under fire – five things we learnt from appearance before Oireachtas Committee on Health

A defeated-looking delegation of executives and doctors from Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) did little to shake off the image of people being in over their heads yesterday after a series of ­damning reports, as they faced questions from an energised Oireachtas Committee on Health.

Despite claims of repair and rebuild, the body overseeing the three children’s hospitals ended up triggering even more concern, particularly around giving it the reins to make ready the new €2.4bn children’s hospital.
