Woman in serious condition in hospital after being knocked down by her own car in Cork city

A woman is in a serious condition in hospital following an incident in Cork City on Monday where she was knocked down by her own car.
The woman, who is in her 60s, had parked her car on Pophams Road, when reports say the car started to roll down the hill.
Eyewitnesses reported that the owner of the car was then knocked down while trying to stop the vehicle from taking off down the road, which contains a steep hill on the Blackpool end.
Emergency services and Gardaí responded following reports that a woman had been struck by a parked car (suv) that unexpectedly moved. She was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road was temporarily closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
In addition they are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam and were in the area at the time, to make it available to them.
