Shels caretaker boss Joey O’Brien admits he was left “shocked and stunned” by the departure of Damien Duff as manager on Sunday.

The 39-year-old has revealed that he asked Duff to take a couple of days to reconsider his decision, in the hope the former Shelbourne boss may change his mind about departing, but said the Ireland centurion was “adamant” that his time at Tolka Park was over.
