Every so often, you stumble upon a place that completely blows you away.

For me, that place is Post Ranch Inn. Often lauded as one of the best hotels in America, the 40-room property is a feat of architectural genius, perched on the cliffs in California’s Big Sur. Before construction began in 1988, architect Mickey Muennig camped among the soaring redwoods for a month, sleeping in the very spot he’d eventually place treehouses.
