Details for the funeral of Lord Henry Mount Charles have been announced.

Lord Henry passed away on Wednesday, June 18 in St. James’s Hospital following a long battle with cancer.

Lord Henry’s official title was the Most Honourable Henry Vivien Pierpoint Conyngham, 8th Marquess Conyngham.

He was best known for hosting four decades of shows at Slane Castle, as well as the Slane whiskey brand that he and his family created.

Over the decades the venue has hosted concerts by U2, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Madonna and many others.

Lord Henry will repose at the Castle on Tuesday, June 24 and those wishing to pay their respects are invited to do so between 3pm–7pm.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 25 at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Slane.

Due to very limited space inside the church, seating will be reserved and allocated for family, with provision made for those outside.

A book of condolences will also be available at Slane Castle on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 from 10am–6pm.

The family said they "would like to welcome those attending to sympathise after the service in Slane Castle".

In a statement released the family has said they are “deeply moved by the outpouring of public kindness and solidarity during this difficult journey”.
