Hiqa received over 1,000 unsolicited ‘tip-offs’ on nursing homes last year

The country’s health watchdog has revealed it received 1,021 pieces of unsolicited information last year in relation to nursing homes.
The Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa) said that during 2024, inspectors of social services continued to inspect and regulate designated centres for older people, commonly referred to as nursing homes.
